yo, add me to the list of folks who want to learn about frame building. it's something i've wanted to learn for a while now. i got a book on it, more of a pamphlet really, but haven't cracked it cuz of a lack of tools. if anyone is planning any kind of workshop or lesson add ol' t-bags to the list.

Something I'm not clear on when looking for frames for my tallbike... does the BB on the top frame need to line up perfectly with the top of the seat tube on the bottom bike when the headtubes are lined up?

from my first, very brief ride on spook's bike, i would feel like it might not hurt to have the bb a bit forward to help balance the whole thing, but i have no idea how to build one.

yeah, that's my thought exactly, although i'm not sure if i want to try to weld to the middle of a tube--bike tubes are amazingly thin actually.

well, what would be the badass solution would be to cut a tube to fit directly beneath the weld that runs to the bottom bracket of the lower bike. that would probably be strong as shit, and stiffen it up to somewhere around the extreme.

Bad news, guys and gals. Due to the inclement weather, we will be postponing Bike Build Day. The new date is still TBD, but rest assured, it will happen.

This gives you more time to search for frames/parts/tools, also. So, if you know of anyone with cheap (or free) steel frames lying around, jump on it.

ROAD TRIP
Eric and I have been discussing taking a quick road trip over to San Jose.  He says there is a huge parking lot full of abandoned bikes that someone sells for super cheap.  We want to get a group of people to come and we can bring down a bulk of frames for people to use for when the workshop occurs.  So whoever has a big car and wants to come, speak up!  BB and Franz have expressed interest as well.  It would be the weekend between the 8-11th of February.

I'm not entirely sure my car would make it that far, so I'll have to think about it/see who else is going. I do have a bike rack...
