A brief report from C.I.C.L.E.'s Toys & Mittens Ride a few weekends ago.
http://www.cicle.org/cicle_content/pivot/entry.php?id=549It was a great event, wonderfully organized by Liz and Shay. We rode through the neighborhood collection toys from local businesses. At the halfway point cookies were donated to all the riders by Scratch Cookies & Bakery on Myrtle in Old Town Monrovia. At the end of the ride there was a generous meal of pizza with corn meal crust, salad and vegie lasagna provided by Zelo Gourmet Pizzeria on Foothill. Yummy!!
http://www.laweekly.com/eat+drink/counter-intelligence/into-the-deep/8740/Shay was pulling a trailer made from bamboo. It had some mechanical issues but we were able to fix it with some zip ties.
Liz had a prototype trailer based on the old teardrop trailers from back in the 40's. Full sized teardrops could sleep few people and had a hatch that opened into a kitchen.
She said she hopes to put the trailer into production. I'm hoping for the addition of little round windows with curtains!
All in all, a fun ride for a good cause.
