Art + Bike = ART NIGHT RIDE
Experience Great Art from the Seat of Your Bike!
Friday October 12, 6:00 P.M. to 10:00 P.M.
Pasadena, Calif. (October 2007) -- Cyclists and art lovers alike will
enjoy this relaxing and intriguing bike tour of Pasadena's vast
collection of art galleries and museums, many of which are open for free
during ArtNight, Friday, October 12, 2007. Cyclists are asked to meet
in Smith Alley behind the Patagonia store located at Union and Fair Oaks
in Old Pasadena. All that is required for the ArtNight Ride is a
bicycle, helmet and an adventurous spirit. Highlights of this
pedal-powered art tour include stops at Armory Center for the Arts,
Castle Green, Pasadena City College, Pasadena Museum of California Art
and other venues participating in ArtNight. The ArtNight Ride is your
chance to experience world-class culture in a whole new way.
ArtNight Ride is a fun social event that is open to all skill levels.
The route is mainly on side streets and is kept as level as possible.
Ample time has been arranged to visit each location. Supervised parking
is available, however each rider is asked to bring his or her own
bicycle lock.
Ride Start / End: In Smith Alley behind the Patagonia store at One
Colorado located on Union and Fair Oaks in Old Pasadena (47 North Fair
Oaks, 91103). Since the ride starts at 6:00 P.M., please try to arrive
at least 15 minutes prior.
Getting to the Ride: If you are arriving via the Gold Line, use the
Memorial Park Station and follow Holly Street to Fair Oaks. When you
see the Patagonia store at the corner of Union and Fair Oaks, head down
Smith Alley where the ride begins.
ABOUT THE ARTNIGHT RIDE
The ArtNight Ride is part of Pasadena ArtWeekend, a three-day festival
that includes ArtNight, ArtWalk, ArtHeritage, ArtMarket and
ArtPerformance, October 12 through 14, 2007.
ArtWeekend is a joint venture of the Cultural Affairs Division of the
City of Pasadena with the Arts & Culture Commission, Pasadena Convention
& Visitors Bureau, One Colorado, Latino Heritage, Playhouse District
Association and the Old Pasadena Management District.
