I'm on the market for good quality and very puncture-resistant wider (32?) tires for my daily commute. I currently use Gatorskins, but I'm interested in trying something different, and hopefully better.

I had my eyes on Panaracer's RiBMo PT tires, but evidently they don't make a 27" version - I have an older bike with 630 wheels on it.

Anyone have any suggestions for an alternative? Again, puncture-resitance is a factor; I don't care so much about the weight.

Any and all input is much appreciated!

Thanks,

Karl

Panaracer Pasela Tourguard.  They're excellent, Bike Roddy rode them cross country, and we have them in the shop.

I'm for the tour guards, I think the gators are tougher (at least on the sidewall) but the TGs are more comfortable while still puncture resistant, keep in mind that the sizes run a bit small. I also like the schwalbe marathon, a bit pricier but a great tire, also comes with reflective sidewall.

Vittoria Randonneur
Continental Contact Tour
Continental Gator Skin  (least harsh)
Specialized Armadillo
Schwalbe Marathon

All of these last forever and keep everything but nails and bullets from your tubes.

All of them ride hard as a rock, which I find somewhat uncomfortable in my gracefully aging body.  I find it rare that a sidewall puncture occurs unless you are a douchebag to someone who then finds your bike parked and takes a screwdriver or a knife to your tire and slashes it.

+1 more for the Pasela
