Gern mentioned GPS and cycling in the city.  Could you elaborate on your GPS?  I don't have GPS but have two decent maps - Google and Yahoo - on my Blackberry Pearl.  Does GPS utilize one of these maps or an equivalent?

warren,
sorry I'm lame, & just found this post........ My unit is GPS76CSX
I just now today figured out how to see new to me posts, that I was previously missing..
Anyways, My Garmin, of which Paul, (I mean, The Sir Paul) also uses Garmin has, it's own software of maps.  I love it tremendously. I have saved my ass (and others with me at the time) several times already with it.
Like this summer in San Fran, when 4 of us got into town for SFCM, I hit M.O.B. for a way-point marking our cars location.  8 hours, 20 miles, & several beers later, it retuned us to our car.  The bread crumb feature saved me in Long Beach when I got lost, was alone, and the trail of crumbs led me back.  When traveling this automatically lays down the trail.  Also as I commute thru town, it shows my map updating realtime and I can see surrounding streets, helping with dead-ends, streets that turn away from my intended destination.  There HAVE been times that it(GPS) was "Drunk" and gave weird readings. Batteries last a good long time as long as the backlight is off.  You can have the light go out in a predetermined time(20 seconds), so as I ride in the dark the light comes on as a new prompt occurs, such as, turn ahead. I'd be happy to demo at BRW, just let me Know.
Peace,
Gern
