I usually have no interest in fillet brazed old Schwinns but this forum thread made me change my tune a bit.

And the comment about rider weight seemed to be a point for them as well. Lot of cool details about how he did the project.

The Super Sports and Sports Tourer were hand-brazed on the same production line as the Paramount.  They are really nice, and if they came in my size I'd definitely have one by now.  I'm a big fan of that simple matte paint job and clean look of the fillet-braze.

Sheldon Brown has a whole page devoted to them:

A trip to a machinist to modify the quill diameter and use of threaded to threadless adapter...
Adapto-matic for the bottom bracket...
Respacing the rear triangle...
Odd sized seatpost...
Possibly doing some filing to get the dropouts to accomodate a 9mm front axle...
7.5 lb frame...
Hmmm...

Obstacles aplenty, without a doubt. And I won't be getting one soon, or probably ever.

But you have to appreciate the labor of love. And all the strangeness is what makes it an interesting project.

I can confirm that old Schwinns can carry serious weight.

My '82 Traveler fixie has been pretty durable, and the ride quality is ridiculously pleasant.

I thought I'd gone overboard restoring my bike, but that guy took it to the next level.
