Sign up now and you'll get our brand-new, one-good-thing-a-day-email in your inbox Monday through Friday afternoons (soon). CicLAvia opens LA streets to pedestrians and bicyclists, creating a temporary web of public space on which residents of Los Angeles can walk, bike, socialize, celebrate and learn more about their own city. On 10/10/10, 7.5 miles of roadways were temporarily opened for recreational purposes for the first ever CicLAvia event. CicLAvia 2011 events are scheduled for 4/10/11, 7/10/11, and 10/9/11. Visit ciclavia.org to learn more!

Spanning five industrial buildings across two city blocks, Atwater Crossing: Arts and Innovation Complex (ATX), houses an array of creative offices, artisanal manufacturing facilities, locations for photography and film shoots, a yoga studio and gym, and theaters showcasing cutting edge original productions. In early 2011, a new restaurant—the ATX Eatery—will warm the heart of the complex with a menu built around the highest quality ingredients, a true passion for freshly prepared food, and a state-of-the-art Italian wood burning pizza oven. Vegetables and herbs will be grown on an onsite linear farm with meals served in a marvelous 4,000 square foot patio and a permeable indoor dining room hosting an eclectic mix of live jazz and performances. www.atwatercrossing.com

When you say Good L.A. is throwing a party to benefit Ciclavia, can you give us a bit more of a breakdown on how the $20-$50 per ticket will be used to benefit Ciclavia?

It sounds like fun, but most of the cycling themed events in L.A. tend to be free admission, so if we're going to shell out for a party in the middle of the afternoon, it'd be nice if the $ was headed for a nonprofit cause.

Keep us posted!  laugh

Sucks there's no sliding scale.  I see that paying $50 extra gets you a t-shirt.  That better be one bloody good shirt.
