I got in an accident on my road bike, an old Windsor road bike, and the "best" bike shop around here wants $50 to replace my 27in front rim. I really hope that the swap meet you guys are having on the 12th will have a front 27in rim, and some other small parts I need to finish my first fixed gear side project I've been working on all for a price that's actually affordable.
So in all I just have to say I am excited to finally go to my first bike co op, my first bike swap meet, and to meet some regulars/volenteers.

You could also probably run a 700, provided you are one of those breakin' fixies and/or your brakes reach.

I'd rather stick with 27 since that will be easier on the wallet letting me use the 27in tires and tubes I already have, and ya I will run brakes on the fixed. Could I bring my road bike and my fixed project and after getting all I can at the swap meet slap down some money and put the bikes together after?
I just hope that with sixty bucks, maybe I can scrounge up a bit more I can get used two front rims, pedals, brake cable & housing, seat and whatever is needed to mount a seat to the seat post.
At worst if I can at least get 1 front rim I can get my road bike back going and can ride again.

Have you checked to see if we have any 27" used wheels? We might even have a new 27" wheel that would work which would be less expensive than the $50 you were quoted. Come into the shop and see what we have! I know I don't have any used 27" wheels in my 15 storage units, so you won't see any from me.

as of last week there was one used alloy 27" front on the wall, those go quickly though.

I think we may have a new one. As for the other parts, who knows what inexpensive wonders the Bikerowave may hold on any given day! Come in and scrounge!
