hope I can get the new Crankset on my mountain bike before this. Although you think I could do this path on my cyclocross bike? As far as I've heard there isn't a whole lot of technical mountain riding around here, but maybe I heard incorrectly.

there is alot of technical out there(here)
Mt Wilson, Rocky Peak-hummingbird, backbone, pretty much all of the san gabriels, I wouldn't do without suspension

Gern perhaps you forget how "hardcore" I am. Anyway I guess the real issue is how technical is this route, is it all singletrack?

No Franz it's definatly Not all singletrack.  Fire road climb, majority downhill is singletrack, the beautiful, rolling curvy stuff, that is like candy to sugeraholic.  No real nasty stuff.  I would think you could put some knobbies on your cross bike & clean all of it, i dont remember any chewed up sections. make sure you have newer batteries... Cheesy
you have till june 1st to fix up your mt. bike.  I'd love to pre-ride the course during the day soon, then you could take the cross & see if you like it. maybe paul remembers something that would be hard on a cyclo-cross bike?

i was thinking we could split the ride @ the backbone trailhead on the way down

those that want to singletrack down can take backbone and another group can take the fireroad to the palisades and all meet @ the bottom

i'll revise the map

If a person does the Santa Monica Critical Mass(Approx. 20 miles), then the Moonlight Mountain ride(Approx. 26 miles), they maybe very tired... We've got a month to get longer seat times.

it's a decent climb too.. if you haven't done it b4 this might be a good time to try because we will be moving slow i assume

should a shot of whiskey be w8n @ the top 4 every1?
