The SM Museum of Art is having a big event and would like Bikerowave to be there, which sounds fun. There will be our normal outreach, bike checkups and referrals, and then there is a ride that leaves and then returns to the Museum later.

They expressed interest in both outreach and perhaps ride leaders

August 22nd at the Santa Monica Museum of Art
Check in at 1pm, checkups til 5pm
Ride leaves at 5:30pm

This will probably be really fun.

I can most likely do it.  Check back closer to the date to confirm.

I'm putting this on my calendar, I would be up for potentially leading a ride, will the rides be art or architecture related?

Not sure. However, I have just found out this is a PAID position. So Ride Leaders and Mechanics will get 40 bucks.

Right now we have enough mechanics, with Me, Shane and Raina volunteering for the day.

So we need 2 more ride leaders, or 1 if Kyle is confirmed.

The one catch is that it is grant funded so ride leaders will have to watch a ride leading presentation.

Any takers for that last Position (or 2 if Kyle is out)

You can confirm me as a Ride Leader.

I had you as a mechanic and ride leader, did you only want to lead the ride?

There's a good chance this will be the same weekend as the REI Manhattan Beach bike corral.

I just wanted to confirm that I'll be there.  I'll do both.

I can positively confirm that I am available to be either a ride leader or mechanic.  My preference is to be the mechanic but just let me know what you need.

This event was totally awesome. SMMoA was great, CICLE was great, the ride was great (if a bit slow), the afterparty was a lot of fun, the food trucks were yum, and I had an awesome time.

Free stuff obtained: 5 clif bars, 1 button, 3 stickers, 1 Metro blinky, and 1 Metro reflective bracelet.

Plus I got to play jump rope with some kids.  Awesome.
