Spoke shop in Ocean Park
«

Hi gus,
For my wheel build needed 302mm spokes and there weren't enough at the 'Owave last night. So there is some shop in Ocean Park which builds new spokes in the sense they can thread it to the correct length. Does anyone know which one? Another option is to just pick up the spokes from an LBS- any recommendations?
Cheers
Bob

Don't get me started on the Phil Wood Spoke Cutting machine...
Let's just say, I want one and they are way too expensive.
Yes, you could buy the spokes at another bike shop, like LABrakeless, just across the street from us. We can order them, which would take a few days, and that means we could order a bunch of spokes in other sizes, as we are probably running low or are out of pretty much everything else.

I've been frequenting that bike shop for years. They know wheels and building them. Some years ago when I ordered spokes and nipples through them, I was told that they have a spoke threading machine. If memory serves, I think they only cut and thread straight gauge spokes, but you should ask. I've been recommending that place to people interested in wheelbuilding materials. They have always treated me well.
That shop is between 16th and 17th on Ocean Park Ave.
Good luck.
