Anyone out there have a good turn by turn route from Culver to Log Beach?
And...and from Long Beach all the way south to San Diego?
Scenic is good, but urban scenic is also cool.
Thanks

Yeah - I'm one of the lurkers Gern mentioned but I don't have a brilliant suggestion so I didn't reply.  I rode from Overland & Palms to Mission Bay and then up into Santee about two years ago.  The PCH is the way to go, with some mild wrinkles, south of Long Beach.  I think heading inland to pick up the LA river bikepath is too much of a detour.  You might try amalgamating one of the routes suggested in this thread:

with a PCH route south of the LBC (yeah you know me!)

I could give you good directions to Union Station where you can buy a train ticket straight to San Diego.  Other than that, I have no idea.  However, my friend Richie recently rode down to SD and made it back in one piece.  You could ask him what route he took.  He's on this forum under the name richtotheie.  Send him a PM.

Great cycling maps.

Visual routes with turn by turn instructions. Includes elevation profiles. Also lists some bike shops and hostels along the route. Maps are waterproof.

Consider becoming a memeber. Adventure Cycling started in 1976 when a group of cyclists decided to ride across the US to celebrate the Bicentenial. They called themselves BikeCentenial. Since they've morphed into a stellar organization that specializes in loaded touring.
