This is my new bike Somethingroyal, replacing my old steed Thunder Horse.  She's a sweet ride and I already got her dirty before I took these pictures.  She's named after this horse's mommy:

Anyhow - here's the specs:

Frame/Fork: 1992 Greg Lemond, 58cm center to center, lugged steel Columbus SL tubing, "Black Violet" paint scheme which appears black in low light and a deep purple in sunlight.  Internal cabling for rear brake.

Front Wheel: hand built by moi in a "3 leading 3 trailing" pattern - my first wheel I've built - Surly "New" track hub with high flanges, Mavic CXP33 rim with welded joint, Wheelsmith 14/15 double butted spokes

Rear Wheel: hand built by moi in traditional "3 cross" pattern - my second wheel I've built - 2007 Campy Record hub, Mavic CXP33 rim with welded joint, Wheelsmith 14/15 double butted spokes

They can but only if the components are Chorus and Up ie. Chorus/Record, Sram Force. Dura Ace will do the job in a pinch.

I remember this one time I was riding on Pico on a beater mountain bike.  I pulled up next to this fine honey riding a custom Seven with the full Record group.  So I said "Sweet cheeks, Italian looks good on you."  She turned to check out my thighs of steel concealed by well worn denim and replied "Oh yeah?"  Sure, she was wearing shades, but a twinkle in the eye lands on the face and there was definitely a twinkling eye on her face!  So, without pause, I arched my eyebrow and replied "I'm not Italian but do you know what else would look good on you?"

Well, a gentleman never tells - but there is this little hotel on Lincoln . . . that time the components on her bike worked for me.
