Hey folks. I've been down there once for a little when my gf was working on her bike. Anyway, I'm working on a fixie conversion project, and we're planning on stopping by soon (probably next Wed, unless I can manage to come by Saturday afternoon - are hours funky at all for Memorial day weekend? Open Monday?)

The frame is a 70s Nishiki - kind of a clunker, not a high end bike in the first place, horizontal dropouts. I might replace the frame at some point, but I want to get it up and running fiirst.

I got a bunch of supplies (new crankset / drivechain, wheels, tires, etc.) over at Orange 20.

Anyway, a few questions in advance... I got some new wheels w/ track hubs (could use the old front wheel in a pinch, I guess). The rear wheel spacing is pretty good, but would probably be good to put small washers in there - I assume there are some of those around, or should I grab some? The front fork is a little tight on the wheel, but the main problem is that the dropouts are a little too tight for the axle (it probably only needs a mm or two shaved off - it almost fits). TJ at O20 said the simplest solution would probably be to machine the dropouts to accomodate the new wheel... is this something that someone there could help me do, and are the appropriate tools there?

as far as i know, it will be regular hours this weekend - saturday 1-5 and monday night 6:30-10pm. also, ciccio (who is on the forum if you want to contact him directly) had a guy re-weld his dropouts from vertical to horizontal to accommodate a single speed setup on an old kona frame. i know other people have some contacts, but he was really pleased with the work his guy did and it was a great price.

He already has horizontals. He can file them down, it's manual and a little slow but sure! Come by tomorrow 1-5 to work with me-

We should have some washers as well.

Thanks Dan, Yolanda, Jim & everyone who helped us today, and also the folks who stuck around a little late to close up. Both our fixie projects are riding pretty well (though I still need to come back Monday and finish working on my brakes, headset, and some other minor stuff).
