It sounds you'd like to sell spoke card art for $14 per card ($7hr shop time x 2), since you'd be selling your services to individuals, but then paying for shop time from the Bikerowave. It's an interesting approach, but you'd probably be better off putting a post up at the midnightridazz.com website offering to do spoke cards for $15 a pop, as there are a lot more people organizing rides frequenting that site.
If you're only looking for $30, you could probably spend an afternoon at Venice Beach and sell a few drawings for that much.
Or, if you wanted FREE shop time, you're more than welcome to become a volunteer!
Good luck!

Dude, I was just offering some more realistic options, given that Bikerowave hasn't officially organized a ride in months, and as such, basically has a nonexistent need for spoke cards. But, if we're going to the barter system, please let me know what the exchange rate for haiku to used parts is. My old bicycle needs many parts very soon will this haiku help?

What a great form of advertising for the bikerowave though? Everyone wants a spoke card. A spoke card, designed by our volunteers--it's been thought of before, true, but it's very appropriate! Doing some art-time would would be a great way to volunteer at the bikerowave. We have plenty of graphic needs. Signs, flyers, post cards, business cards, t-shirts....(all ideas that came up in last nights volunteer's meeting). A bike related haiku on a "Made in the USA" t-shirt, could ROCK. BRW stenciled on the back and you can come take our stem-mounted shifters and mtn bike tires, please!

Well, I'd rather not do artwork for $15 each (though basically that seems like what I'm asking for), but rather I'd like to offer my services to the bicycling community in barter for shop time. Essentially I normally wouldn't offer artwork for that price or at all since I'm not particularly interested in the money (and have other forms of more sensible income) or have the time. I hope that makes some sense. I also wanted to post here instead of Midnite Ridazz since it's a bit more low key. And I figured people here would be a bit more cordial about voicing the ludicrous nature of bartering (I guess that's why people don't do it much anymore- cursed dollar). As for volunteering, I don't recall how many hours a volunteer needs to offer, but I'm afraid I don't have the time to be a consistent/dedicated volunteer - or the need for that many hours of shop time. But anywho, thanks for reading -

I may jinx myself by saying this, but the slime tubes are kicking ass so far.
I thing Specialized Armadillo tires with Slime tubes would be the flatproof combo.
Of course, the added weight might be a drag.

Sorry, Dusky, we seem to have sabotaged your thread...
I still like the idea of getting you on our outreach/pr/marketing committee and put you to work. What a great way to volunteer!
