Great. Thanks for checking Paula.

Carpool from Bikerowave again this Saturday? Same time? How many are coming along for pickup?

I just called and spoke to a guy named John.  It sounds like they don't usually deal with individuals as he asked me what company I was with and what our Seller's ID number was.  I told him the bikes weren't for resale (since the Bikerowave probably does, but we don't each have a Seller's ID) and he said he'd probably have to charge us sales tax, and that cash or cashier's check would be the best way to pay.  Not sure if they can run CC's on the weekends.

Im rather confused about this, are you saying i will not be able to get my frame powder coated?

Not to worry Dylan, they're saying that the powdercoating will be $64.95 ($60 plus 8.25% tax), and that we'll have to pay cash, and those of us seeking pink bikes may have to wait.

But there's probably going to be a group heading out to El Monte on Saturday morning, so if you'd like to join us, you're welcome to do so.  It might help to pick the RAL color you're looking for beforehand and have it written down, unless you know Spanish.

 Tongue

So, everything is going to be done by tomorrow.  The blue ones, the purple one, and the brass one are all done, and the candy blue (Elizabeth's?) and ral 4005 (lilac/lavender) one will be powdercoated today.

Except of course for "the pink one", which needed additional powder shipped in from out of state since they don't have a lot of call for industrial telemagenta powdercoating.

D'oh!

So I won't be heading out to El Monte with you all tomorrow morning.  I should be at the 1-4 shift though, so maybe I'll get to see how they all came out.

(This also means that if any of you don't get a first rate job done and want to leave your frame for a second shot, or are bringing your bike there for the first time, and need a future pick-up, I'll be happy to grab your frames for you when I go to get mine.)

Success! Speaking for myself, my mixte frame turned out very nice in a blue-slate-teal color.  No glaring imperfections at all, nice even gloss color.  Much better then I thought.  Now I have to put some nice bits on it to pretty it up!
I'm not going to speak for others but, overall, they turned out looking very good and exceeded our expectations.  Mihai's and Morgan's frames, painted the same dark blue, turned out to have a mild texture, like egg shell, that I would not have wanted.
Sin textura!

I love the texture.  Color is fine as well.  I am extremely happy w/ the finish, I did not want glossy.  To make a long story short, I work in a print lab, and it's pretty must established that Luster paper is the best.  That's pretty much what the surface of my frame feels like.  The small bumps reflect light all over the place instead of directly at your eyes, therefore my frame stays shine-free, and low-key, like me.  Glossy is too flossy.

Well, Mihai, I'm glad you are happy with your luster frame.  It's probably more aerodynamic too.  With double dimple technology.  Like a golf ball.
