I recently got an old Gitane tandem with cottered cranks, and one of the cotters needs to be (near as I can tell anyway, this is my first experience with cottered cranks) removed and replaced. Does Bikerowave have cotters on hand, and the necessary tools to remove and replace them? Thanks a lot.

We have lots of old cottered cranks / parts.

I don't know if we have a cotter press, but we do have a selection of hammers and punches.

Or, alternatively, you could upgrade the cranksets

You might try and find the cotter pins at a bike shop first that FIT you bike's cranks.  There seem to be several different diameters.  Usually, in my experience, the cotter pins do not survive the removal process, thus a new set to go on after you pull the cranks off, clean 'em in the parts cleaner, rebuild your BB and everything goes on all shiny and new like.
Or, you replace the heavy steel crankset for nice gorgeous vintage Stronglight or TA Specialities crankset made of alloy and thus keeping with your french theme.
