sidewalk bike rack suggestions?

Hi all,
   a business here in town is interested in installing bike racks at their storefront. Any suggestions on decent racks and places to get them (preferably local)?

I'm guessing they would like something with a small footprint so that it won't block the sidewalk. I'm not sure if they are interested in custom (i.e. artsy) racks or just want something cheap and functional.

Have them call the city and see if they can get the city to do it for them / recommend a good supplier?

There are so many different kinds of racks... if you see one that seems best for your needs go up to it and see if there is manufacturer info on it. Go from there...

I work for lululemon athletica santa monica (btwn 3rd and 4th) and WE would LOVE to have bike racks in front of our store because a ton of our employees and customers ride their bikes to us. I always lock my bike to the tree

I called the city for help but nothing has happened. I should have known better than to have let the ball drop.

But maybe we can do midnight guerrilla installment of bike racks around the downtown area of santa monica. Maybe get santa monica daily press to run a story on it!?!
